PDK stands for ”Porsche Doppel Kupplungen” which means it is a transmission that uses 2 clutches, one for the even gears and one for the odd gears. The advantage ofn the gearbox with two clutches is that the shifts are done without power interruption.
This therefore means minimal loss in power and thus faster acceleration.
While driving, 1 clutch is active which means that the other clutch has a next gear or a gear back already ready to go.
This minimizes gear changes and losses.
